GO4Youth Olympiad 2024: Exam from April 8; registration begins January 31 onwards

NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commision (UGC) has announced the GREEN Olympiad for Youth (GO4Youth Olympiad 2024) dates. The GO4Youth Olympiad is organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and endorsed by the UGC, Ministry of Education (MoE) and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC). The registration for GO4Youth Olympiad 2024 will begin on January 31 and the last date to apply is February 25.
As part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Supreme Court earlier directed the mandatory implementation of environmental studies at the undergraduate level, as well as the further integration of environmental education into curriculum, to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to address complex environmental issues.
The UGC official notice read, "The GO4Youth Olympiad, a distinctive interdisciplinary program tailored for students aged l8-25 years in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across India is scheduled to take place online from April 8 to 12, 2024. It is designed to create awareness focusing on environmental and sustainability issues."

GO4Youth Olympiad 2024: Exam pattern
The GO4Youth Olympiad 2024 exam will be held in online mode as computer-based-test (CBT). The duration of the exam is 50 minutes and there will be a total of 50 questions. The medium of the Olympiad is English. The GO4Youth Olympiad 2024 will evaluate the level of awareness and comprehension of the students about climate change, pollution, waste management, sanitation, conservation of biological diversity, management of biological resources and biodiversity, forest and wildlife conservation, and sustainable development and living.
GO4Youth Olympiad 2024: Benefits
Participating in the GO4Youth Olympiad will provide the students with the following benefits.
- E-certificates will be provided to all participants.
- Merit and distinction e-certificates will be given to rank holders.
- Cash awards will there for the top three positions.
- Students will get membership in TERI's youth network.
- Internship opportunities will be provided at TERI and other renowned institutes.
- It will help to create attractive environment portfolio.
"Your university's active involvement in the GO4Youth Olympiad will undoubtedly enhance the academic experience of the students and reinforce your institution's commitment to producing environmentally conscious and socially responsible graduates," read the UGC official notice.
