Govt setting up integrative medicine divisions in all medical colleges: Health Minister
Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted the government’s push for indigenous research and innovation and said the Centre is planning to open research in all sectors.

NEW DELHI: Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya today announced that the government is working towards setting up of separate integrative medicine division in all medical colleges and hospitals.
The minister was addressing a session on 'Integrative Approach to Health & Well-being' at Kanha Shanti Vanam on Saturday. He said that the government has also established 1,50,000 health and wellness centre in the country, where various activities like meditation, yoga is carried out.
“In the coming days, the government will work towards setting up of separate integrative medicine division in all medical colleges, including MBBS and Ayurveda college, and hospitals.” We are planning to open research in all sectors, he said.
“The government is focused on addressing health issues in a holistic, integrated manner. The world has embraced yoga and Indian traditional medicines and turning towards holistic healthcare,” he said. Mandaviya also highlighted the government’s push for indigenous research and innovation.

Reiterating the Centre’s dedication towards creating a vibrant ecosystem of research and innovation in the country, the health minister emphasized that government is taking several steps to ease the access to quality education and research training.
He said that from giving boost to traditional medicine and modern medicine system to creating new institutions, and nudging private players, we are holistically moving forward for allowing our younger generation to creatively use their talents.
