GUJCET 2026 exam on March 29 for engineering, pharmacy admissions; GSEB confirms NCERT-based syllabus

Try NowThe Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB), has announced that the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) 2026 date. As per the announcement, the GUJCET 2026 exam will be conducted on March 29, 2026. The exam will be held at district-level centres across the state in a single shift from 10 am to 4 pm.
The GUJCET exam is a state-level entrance test for admission to degree engineering, degree pharmacy, and diploma pharmacy programmes offered by colleges in Gujarat.
The board has informed that details regarding the GUJCET 2026 application form and the information booklet will be made available later on the official website, gseb.org. Candidates will be able to fill out the application form online as per the schedule to be released by the board.
“As per the Government of Gujarat, Education Department’s Resolution No. PARC-102012-S dated November 19, 2016, it was decided to make the GUJCET examination compulsory from the year 2017 onwards for admission to degree engineering, degree pharmacy, and diploma pharmacy courses after Class 12 (10+2 pattern) in the Science stream,” the official notice said.
GUJCET 2026 syllabus, exam pattern
The GUJCET 2026 exam will be based on the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) syllabus for Class 12 Science stream subjects — Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. As per the official notice, the GUJCET 2026 syllabus follows the academic framework implemented by the Gujarat Board from June 2019, as per the Education Department’s resolution dated October 25, 2017.
The GUJCET 2026 exam will have multiple-choice questions. The Physics and Chemistry paper will be conducted jointly, carrying 80 questions (40 each), carrying a total of 80 marks, with a duration of 120 minutes.
Separate papers will be held for Biology and Mathematics, each comprising 40 questions for 40 marks, with a duration of 60 minutes per paper. Candidates will be provided with separate OMR sheets for each paper.
The question papers for GUJCET 2026 will be available in Gujarati, English, and Hindi mediums to ensure accessibility for students from different linguistic backgrounds.
