Hindu College Staff Association has sought an independent inquiry, disclosure of governing body minutes and audited accounts, and restoration of the Staff Council’s statutory authority.
The Hindu College Staff Association (HCSA) has demanded the removal of the college principal and the chairman of its governing body, an independent inquiry into alleged irregularities and immediate intervention by Delhi University, as its protest against the college administration continues. In a press note issued on Wednesday, the association said it had been staging a dharna for over two weeks and had passed a no-confidence resolution against the college principal.
The HCSA alleged deviations from university admission rules , delays in faculty leave and promotion matters, bypassing of the statutory Staff Council and irregularities in financial and procurement processes. It also raised concerns over the alleged commercial use of college resources, non-disclosure of governing body minutes and audited accounts, fee and scholarship governance, appointments and tenure, and repeated fire incidents and structural issues.
The association demanded the removal of the Governing Body Chairman, saying an independent inquiry should be conducted into alleged irregularities in admissions, finances, procurement, construction, appointments, and governance. It also sought the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of show-cause notices issued to the HCSA president, secretary and a senior faculty member for raising concerns about the principal's alleged wrongdoing.

The association alleged that some faculty members, particularly those from Dalit and other vulnerable sections, had been selectively targeted. Among its key demands is the temporary takeover of Hindu College by Delhi University and the constitution of an extended governing body to safeguard the institution against any move towards privatisation. The HCSA also called for the implementation of observations made by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), disclosure of governing body minutes, audited accounts, tenders and contracts, and restoration of the Staff Council's statutory authority.
It further alleged that college buildings were being taken over and renamed after corporate donors, including the Chimes Group, Relaxo and Ultra International, in violation of university rules. The association said it had submitted memorandums to the university's vice-chancellor and the governing body but had received no effective response. As part of the protest, Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha and Lok Sabha member Sudhakar Singh had addressed protesting students and teachers in solidarity, the association said.
