Download NowNEW DELHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will be closing the CA Intermediate January 2025 registration today, May 1. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to fill the CA Inter 2025 January application form by visiting the official website, icai.org.
The ICAI has recently announced that CA Foundation and Intermediate course examination will be held thrice a year. The ICAI official notice read, "The Institute has decided that from May/June 2024 onwards, Intermediate & Foundation course Examinations will be held thrice in a year in the month of May/June, September and January from the existing practice of twice a year and CA Final course examination will continue to be held twice a year in the month of May and November.”
CA Inter 2025 eligibility criteria
Candidates can have a look at the CA Intermediate 2025 eligibility criteria below.
Eligibility for graduation and post graduation students
- Candidates who have completed either graduation or post graduation with at least 55% marks are qualified to apply directly for the CA Intermediate course.
- Graduates or post graduates from fields other than commerce can also enroll for the CA Inter exam, provided they have attained a minimum of 60% marks.
- Students must fulfill the 8-month study course requirement before the first day of the month in which the examination is scheduled to be held to be eligible to sit for the CA Inter exam.
Eligibility criteria for CS and CMA students
- Individuals who have successfully passed the CS Executive level of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India are eligible.
- Candidates who have accomplished the CMA Intermediate program offered by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India are also eligible to register for the CA Inter examination groups. These applicants should fulfill the 8-month study course prerequisite before the first day of the month in which the examination is set to be conducted.

SC rejects plea seeking CA 2024 exam postponement
The Supreme Court has dismissed the plea to postpone the ICAI CA exams 2024, emphasizing that such a decision would impact over 4.36 lakh students slated to take the exams. The plea for postponement was made due to the Lok Sabha general elections 2024. According to the latest schedule, the CA Intermediate exams for 2024 will take place on May 3, 5, and 9 for group 1, and on May 11, 15, and 17 for group 2. Similarly, the CA Final exam dates for 2024 are set for May 2, 4, and 8 for group 1, and May 11, 15, and 17 for group 2. It's worth noting that the 2024 general elections commenced on April 19 and will run until June 1, as announced by the election commission.
