The course on Environmental and Occupational Hazard discusses natural hazards and disasters like earthquakes, floods, landslides that adversely affects the people either by damaging the property or through loss of life. The course also covers geological hazards, weather-related hazards or coastal hazards, among other hazards. The course discusses Occupational Hazards as well. This course comprises four blocks describing EIA in detail. The environment in EIA context mainly focuses on physical, chemical, biological, geological, social, economic, and aesthetic dimensions along with their complex interactions, which affects individuals, communities and ultimately determines their forms, character, relationship, and survival.
