IGNOU January 2025 re-registration deadline today for ODL, online programmes

NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will end the January 2025 re-registration process for the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online programmes today, March 31. Eligible candidates can fill out the IGNOU January 2025 application form for the ODL and online programmes through the official website at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

The registration portal is open for both Indian and international university students. During the registration process, candidates will be able to register for both ODL and online programmes, except semester-based programmes. To register for the programmes, candidates will also have to pay a late fee of Rs 200.

“The last date for Re-registration for all programmes (except semester-based programmes) has been extended up to 31st March, 2025 with a late fee of Rs. 200/-,” the official website said. Students who meet the eligibility criteria can also apply for Government of India scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in after their admission is confirmed.

IGNOU January 2025: Documents required

The list of documents required for the IGNOU January 2025 re-registration process is give below.

  • Scanned Photograph (less than 100 KB)
  • Scanned Signature (less than 100 KB)
  • Scanned copy of relevant Educational Qualification (less than 200 KB)
  • Scanned Copy of Experience Certificate (if any) (less than 200 KB)
  • Scanned copy of the category certificate, if belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or Other Backward Classes (OBC), with a file size of less than 200 KB.

IGNOU January 2025 Admission: Refund policy

The IGNOU January 2025 registration fee, along with details on admission cancellation and the fee refund policy, is provided below.

  • The registration fee is non-refundable.
  • If admission is cancelled after confirmation, 15% of the programme fee (up to a maximum of Rs 2,000) will be deducted from the refund.
  • For students who opted for a soft copy of study materials, only the registration fee will be deducted.
  • If a student who received a fee exemption has paid only the registration and development fees, only the development fee will be refunded.
  • Refund requests will not be accepted beyond 60 days from the admission closing date.

The IGNOU initially set the registration deadline for the January 2025 session as January 31. It was later extended to February 28, followed by another extension to March 15. Subsequently, IGNOU further extended the deadline to March 31. The registration process for the IGNOU June Term-End Examinations (TEE) 2025 is also ongoing, and the last date to fill out the application form without a late fee is April 20.
