NEW DELHI: The NEET UG entrance exam 2025 ends for over 22 lakh MBBS aspirants. Soon after the NEET exam concludes, several coaching institutes will start sharing the NEET UG question paper along with solutions. The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - undergraduate (NEET UG 2025) is being held for admission to Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), and allied courses.
The NEET question paper has 180 questions carrying 720 marks. Each question carries 4 marks and a wrong response will attract -1 marks each. Zero marks will be given for unanswered questions, according to the NEET UG marking scheme.
The NEET answer key and response sheet or commonly known as NEET OMR answer sheets will be displayed through candidate login on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates will also be allowed to challenge the provisional answer key within the given deadline.
As per the schedule announced by the NTA, the NEET UG result date 2025 is June 14. The NEET AIQ rank along with the NEET cut-off for government medical colleges and private medical colleges in India will be announced along with the results. Students will also be able to check state-wise performance of MBBS aspirants through the NEET official website.
Candidates will also be able to calculate their probable marks using the NEET score calculator and NEET rank predictor to know their chances of getting admission in their desired medical college.

According to the data presented by the central government in Lok Sabha, more than 36% of faculty positions at 20 functional All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are vacant. The data was shared by Prataprao Jadhav, the minister of state of health and family welfare, in response to queries made by Jaipur MP Manju Sharma (BJP) regarding 5,799 posts sanctioned for teachers, in which 3,693 are currently filled, while no appointments have been made for the remaining 2106 posts.

According to the data shared by the ministry of health and family welfare, MBBS seats in the country have increased to 1,18,190 from 51,348 before 2014, and PG seats from 31,185 before 2014 to 74,306 now. Additionally, as per the data, there's a significant increase of 101.5% in medical colleges from 387 before 2014 to 780.

The NEET UG 2025 question paper consist of three sections - physics, chemistry, and biology - carrying multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with single correct answer. Physics and chemistry had 45 questions each, and biology, which is divided intro zoology and botany, had 90 questions is total. Each question carries 4 marks. Therefore, the total NEET marks for 180 compulsory questions is 720.

The NTA has announced strict guidelines to follow on exam day to prevent unfair practices. It considers malpractices an non-bailable offence. Students who are found indulging in unfair means will have to face imprisonment of three years, which can get extended to 5 years, with a fine of Rs 10 lakh. Additionally, the student will also be debarred for 3 years.

NEET exam 2025 is over. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon publish the NEET UG answer key 2025 on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
Around 22.7 lakh students appeared for the NEET UG 2025 exam today. Of which, 6,200 are from Vadodara, Gujarat, 5,328 from Kotputli-Behror, Rajasthan, 23,000 from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, 51,510 from Jammu and Kashmir, and 36,000 from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Karnataka has 24 government medical colleges for medical aspirants, and the state offers over 3,750 MBBS seats for admissions. However, admission to courses such as pharmacy, agriculture, and veterinary is based on the Karnataka UGCET exam 2025. Last year, the NEET MBBS cutoff for Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute increased from rank 1566 in 2023 to 1412.
In the unlikely event that any candidate is not able to secure an MBBS seat, they can appear for the NEET exam again, as there's no maximum limit on the number of attempts for the NEET exam.
The NEET UG 2025 exam is underway and will end at 5 pm today. Apart from MBBS and BDS admissions, NEET UG qualifiers will also get admission to the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS), and Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS) courses offered by multiple private medical colleges.
