IGNOU launches BA MSME programme; eligibility, fee details

IGNOU BA MSME Programme: The registration window is open for the July 2024 session.
NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched Bachelor of Arts in Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (BAMSME) programme through its School of Vocational Education and Training (SOVET). The BA MSME programme, available through Open and Distance Learning (ODL), is currently open for applications for the July 2024 session.
As per the IGNOU official press release, the BA MSME programme is tailored to address the educational and skill development requirements of aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those who have finished their Class 12 education. The programme is intended to provide students with the knowledge and skills to successfully start and manage new businesses. "By providing university-level education in entrepreneurship, this programme addresses the growing demand for new business creation, employment generation, and economic development in the country."

IGNOU BA MSME programme eligibility
- Must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent educational qualification.
- Medium of Instruction
- The course is taught in English
IGNOU BA MSME programme duration
- The program has a minimum duration of 3 years, which includes six semesters.
- The maximum duration allowed to complete the program is 6 years.
Total credits
- The program requires a total of 120 credits.
- Students are expected to earn 20 credits per semester.
IGNOU BA MSME programme fee structure
- The annual fee is Rs 5,100.
- The total fee for the entire 3-year program amounts to Rs. 15,300.

As per the official statement, the IGNOU BA MSME programme aims to:
- Business operations: Support the effective and profitable management of business enterprises, covering areas like finance and marketing.
- Managerial skills: Develop managerial, interpersonal, and leadership skills for personal and collective empowerment.
- Innovative approach: Offer a competency-based and innovative approach to entrepreneurship.
IGNOU BA MSME Programme Registration: Documents required
Candidates are required to upload scanned copies of the following documents while applying for the IGNOU ODL, online programmes:
- Scanned photograph (less than 100 KB)
- Scanned signature (less than 100 KB)
- Scanned copy of relevant educational qualification (less than 200 KB)
- Scanned copy of experience certificate (if any) (less than 200 KB)
- Scanned copy of category certificate, if SC,ST,OBC (less than 200 KB)
