IGNOU launches PG diploma in environment management and law

The IGNOU's school of interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary studies launches a one-year PG diploma in environment management and law.

NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University's (IGNOU) school of interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary studies launched the post graduate diploma in environment management and law in open and distance learning (ODL) mode. Interested candidates can apply on IGNOU's website- ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

The programme design complies with the national education policy (NEP) 2020. The main emphasis of the course is on the interaction between environmental research, management and policy. The university will consider providing the programme in other Indian languages so that a larger amount of students will benefit from it.

To enroll in the PG diploma programme in environment management and law at IGNOU, the candidate is required to a graduate degree in any discipline. The one-year programme will cost Rs 7,000 to the student. In addition to this, an application fee of Rs 400 must be paid at the time of registration.

Steps to fill IGNOU admission 2023 form

  • First, visit the admission portal of IGNOU - ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
  • Click on the 'New Registration' link.
  • Fill the required registration details.
  • Remember username and password to login.
  • Make payment of application fees.
  • Download the confirmation page for future reference.

While speaking about the programme, IGNOU, vice-chancellor, Nageshwar Rao appreciated the PGDEML programme for connecting environmental concerns with legislative aspects. He also informed that IGNOU will be converting a number of its programme into other other Indian languages. He further adds that the study materials for MBA programme are being translated into 14 Indian languages in cooperation with AICTE.

At the launch of the programme, government of India, ministry of earth sciences, secretary, Ravichandran claimed that the programme will enable several administrators and decision-makers in India to safeguard the environment and that there will be plenty of job options after the course that combines environmental management and law.
