IGNOU signs agreement with GOAL to provide ODL, online programmes

NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has signed an agreement with Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL) for providing online, online distance learning (ODL) programmes to the students of the Republic of Guyana. The signing ceremony was conducted virtually and had the presence of key officials from both the institutions.

Sonia Parag, Minister of Public Service, Guyana welcomed all on behalf of the Guyana Government and GOAL. Sharing her happiness at the signing of MoA between IGNOU and GOAL, she said that under the agreement Tertiary education is being provided to 20K learners free through online medium & ODL Mode powered by IGNOU.

She wished students success in their endeavour to be proud members of the country to accomplish theirs and nation's goals and also thanked IGNOU for providing help in tertiary education by way of the support in terms of content and best practices.

Nageshwar Rao, VC IGNOU said that it is a great moment for us at IGNOU. He shared that this would help IGNOU's international footprint expand.

Explaining the unique pedagogy and the blended approach of IGNOU, he said that the university can provide both ODL as well as Online education and also Learners' Support which is of paramount importance and IGNOU is committed to providing all the handholding to its partners. He assured all the learners of full support from the university.

Recently, IGNOU has extended the last date of fresh admissions to Online Distance Learning (ODL) and online programmes for the July 2021 session to October 11. However, the deadline has not been extended for certificate courses.

The interested candidates can apply through Online Admission Portal for ODL programmes: ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. IGNOU offers various UG, PG, diploma, certificate, advanced diploma and dppctoral level programmes through distance learning mode.
