IIM Bangalore awards degrees to 785 students at 51st convocation, 9 gold medals conferred

Toppers across programmes recognised as institute highlights academic excellence and research achievements
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore conferred 785 students with degrees at its 51st Convocation held on Friday, March 27.
Degrees were awarded across multiple programmes, including Post Graduate Programme (PGP), executive PGP (EPGP), PGP in business analytics (PGPBA), PGP in enterprise management (PGPEM), as well as doctoral programmes and public policy courses.
IIM official press note said that this year nine students received gold medals for academic excellence, while a PhD scholar was honoured with the institute research award for outstanding research contribution.

IIM Bangalore Toppers Honoured
Among the top achievers, Mayur Dattatray Khule was awarded the gold medal for best all-round performance across PGP and PGPBA programmes. In the PGP 2024–2026 batch, Manasi Anju Mertia secured the first rank, followed by Dhvit Jayen Mehta in second place.
In the EPGP batch, Aysha Shaba PP secured the first rank, while Rajasilpi SP was recognised as the best all-round performer. In the PGPEM programme, Lakshmi R. secured the first rank, and Biswaranjan Mishra was awarded for best all-round performance.
In the PGPPM batch, Anirudh received the gold medal for best academic performance. Divya Dwivedi, a doctoral student, was awarded the Institute Research Award 2026.
Delivering the convocation address, Vibha Padalkar, managing director and CEO of HDFC Life, said that careers and institutions are shaped over time rather than through short bursts of effort. She emphasised that leadership requires balancing ambition with resilience and integrating multiple perspectives.

Padalkar also highlighted the importance of building trust over time and making thoughtful decisions, advising students to develop the “ability to anticipate” and the “discipline to pause.” She urged graduates to remain focused on long-term goals, adding that one must “run fast when it matters” while also knowing when to slow down.
The ceremony was attended by faculty, board members, alumni, and families, with the campus witnessing celebrations as students marked the culmination of their academic journey and prepared to step into new professional roles.
