IIM Jammu to train 25 educators under the Nurturing Future Leadership Programme
IIM Jammu is organising the teacher training programme under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme of the education ministry.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has launched ‘Nurturing future leadership’ programme under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme on the campus in Jagti. The leadership training programme is an initiative to develop the leadership skills of educators at different levels and create a pool of potential leaders for generational transition.
The program will be conducted by the faculty of the IIM Jammu from March 18 to 22, with the aim of enabling institute administration to assess the leadership quality of their faculty members. IIM Jammu director BS Sahay presided over the inaugural ceremony. The first batch consisted of 25 participants. The initiative is being fully funded by the education ministry.
Four session in five days
The residential training programme is divided into four themes – leadership, communication, skill development, and recent government initiatives. It will feature four sessions each for the next five days. These sessions will include lectures, interactive workshops, group discussions, case studies, role-plays, and practical exercises to ensure active engagement and application of concepts.
IIM Jammu director BS Sahay emphasised the institute's distinguished contribution as one of the premier management institutions in the country. He encouraged active engagement in the program's sessions and discussions, fostering connections with fellow educators and IIM Jammu faculty, and reiterating their commitment to excellence, innovation, and leadership in education.

He said, "Today marks a significant milestone in our journey towards educational excellence and leadership development. As we gather here to unveil this program, as initiated by the Ministry of Education, we embark on a transformative initiative aimed at cultivating academic leaders who serve as catalysts for positive change."
He also highlighted the achievements of the IIM system, including the institute's consistent raking among the top 15 IIMs in the NIRF Rankings for two consecutive years. He expressed aspirations for IIM Jammu to emerge as a leading business school nationally and globally.
