IIM Kozhikode, upGrad to offer HR management and analytics certificate course

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode, along with edutech platform- upGrad, is all set to offer an online professional certificate programme in HR management and analytics course.

The five-month course is open for anyone with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree along with two years of work experience or a master’s degree. Freshers can also apply for the course. The course will commence on June 30.

Taught by IIMK teachers, the course will focus on developing the learner’s knowledge around key concepts of HR.The certificate course also familiarises students with the application of quantitative analysis to understand trends and outcomes of human resource data.

“The course also offers a mix of synchronous and asynchronous techniques to make learning easier for working professionals with a total of 120 hours of learning content and promotes a case study-based teaching approach,” an official statement said.

The edu-tech platform already offers two other courses including professional certification in data science for business decision making in collaboration with IIM Kozhikode.

Short term online certificate course

Catering to the rising demand, several public institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), National Institutes of Technology (NIT) are also offering short-term online certificate courses on private online platforms like upGrad. Some of these institutes are also offering such courses through their own online learning platform.

With similar arrangement, other IIMs have also started offering online courses generally targeting professionals. Like IIM Kozhikode’s new HR management course, there are a few which are also open to freshers or people early in their career. IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Nagpur, and IIM Bangalore all offer similar courses.

A majority of the courses cost over Rs 1 lakh with some including a module of on-campus training. This new course by IIM Kozhikode also costs Rs 1,00,300.
