IIM Sambalpur hosts ‘62-Student Cohort’ under Management Immersion Programme

IIM Sambalpur: Held four-day event for 62 students from the IILM University. The programme was attended by director of IIM Sambalpur, Mahadeo Jaiswal.
NEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur, conducted its Management Immersion Programme (MIP) from July 30 to August 2, 2024. The four-day residential programme included 62 students from IILM University with experience in management education and campus life at IIM Sambalpur.
The programme was designed to give students practical management insights, multiple interactive sessions, workshops and case studies. The event was also marked by an industrial visit at Hindalco Industries by students.
Additionally, students also visited a weaving industry in Attabira as part of a societal outreach programme. Joint president of Hindalco Industries Limited, Debasish Mallik, was the chief guest of the event.
Mallik emphasised the importance of bridging the gap between theory based knowledge and real world applications. He says, “True leadership transcends task management; it inspires and empowers".
Mallik adds, “At Hindalco Hirakud, we foster an environment of learning and growth, enhancing managerial skills and encouraging experimentation. Leaders support their teams through triumphs and setbacks, promoting continuous improvement and innovation."
5 modules focusing on management and personal development
The four-day programme was divided into five transformational modules focusing on management and personal development. The modules were led by Samarendra Mishra, co-founder of OVO Farm; Keshav Rao, director personnel; Dr K Ganesh (Partner Global Lead, McKinsey & Company), professor Bharat Bhushan; and various faculties of IIM Sambalpur.
The director of IIM Sambalpur, Mahadeo Jaiswal, welcomed students and expressed gratitude for hosting the programme. He said, "At IIM Sambalpur, our core values are innovation, integrity, and inclusiveness. Embracing change and forward-thinking solutions, we blend tradition with modernity".
