IIM Sambalpur launches first Fintech-focused MBA degree for working professionals

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur (IIM Sambalpur) has started the admission process for MBA in Fintech Management in collaboration with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Academy in hybrid mode. This is the first Fintech-focused MBA degree to be launched by an IIM, the statement read.
Additionally, the institute also announced admission process for dual degree programme under which learners will be awarded MBA in International Finance degree from Sorbonne Business School, Paris.
The course has been designed to provide working professionals with 17 specialized courses and training in the technical areas of Blockchain, AI, and cryptography, fostering strategic capabilities and expertise in cutting-edge technologies.
Since the course will be offered in hybrid mode, the institute has invited applications from working professionals from Asian and European countries as well. Lectures will be delivered by specialised faculty from IIM Sambalpur, NSE Academy, national and international experts. The last date to apply through the official website, iimsambalpur.ac.in/mba-in-fintech-management/ , is May 24.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. Those with educational background in business, economics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or related disciplines will be preferred.
In addition to this, candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of managerial, entrepreneurial, professional experience as of the last date of application.
They should also submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP) not exceeding 2,000 words outlining their career path, interests, professional contributions, goals and why they want to pursue MBA in Fintech Management. Candidates should submit a no objection certificate along with their application or a declaration in case they are self-employed.

Selection process
The Committee in consultation will shortlist candidates for personal interview after the registration process. They will be assessed managerial acumen and entrepreneurial mindset among other factors.
Following this, a merit list will be released based on the personal interview scores, Statement of Purpose (SOP), academic record, professional accomplishments and more.
Candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 1,000 to successfully complete the registration process. The programme is divided into three semesters and the academic fees for the first two semesters are Rs 3,50,000 each and Rs 3 lakh for the third semester.
