IIMC begins e-counselling for MA, PG diploma admissions 2026; apply by June 7

IIMC Admissions 2026: Candidates seeking admission to MA programmes must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55% marks and a valid CUET-PG score in Mass Communication, Journalism.
The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has opened the e-counselling registration process for admissions to its MA and PG Diploma programmes. Candidates can apply for the e-counselling through the official website at iimc.admissions.nic.in by June 7.
The institute will declare the first seat allotment for admission to Master of Arts (MA) and Postgraduate (PG) programmes on June 9.
IIMC has also introduced three new MA programmes in Health Communication, media and communication governance and corporate communication and brand management. Currently, it is offering six MA courses across its six campuses in New Delhi, Dhenkanal, Aizawl, Amravati, Jammu, and Kottayam.
“Four legacy PG Diploma programmes in English Journalism, Hindi Journalism, Radio and Television Journalism, and Advertising and Public Relations are also available for admissions this cycle,” according to an official press release.
IIMC Admissions 2026: Eligibility for MA, PG Diploma
As per the eligibility, for MA programmes, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55% marks and a valid CUET-PG score in Mass Communication and Journalism.
Those seeking admission to PG Diploma programmes, should have a graduation degree with a valid CUET-PG score in the same subject.
General category candidates applying for PG diploma should be at most 25 years of age, Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates should be 28 year and Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates can be up to 30 years old, as of August 1, 2026.
“Candidates who receive an allotment must pay a seat acceptance fee of Rs. 20,000 to confirm admission, followed by the remaining tuition fee within the stipulated timeline. Applicants are advised to fill programme and campus preferences carefully, as no changes will be permitted after the registration form is submitted,” the press release said.
Those who will be allotted seats, should have to submit their high school certificate for verification of date of birth and the final graduation mark sheet. Those awaiting their graduation final results must submit the required documents within the stipulated date and time.
Furthermore, applicants belonging to reserved categories who are unable to submit the caste certificate at the time of admission may provide an undertaking and submit the certificate within the stipulated period.
