IIMK, Coursera to offer 4 certificate courses in ‘high-demand fields’

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode in collaboration with online learning platform Coursera will start four certificate programs in the high-demand fields in 2022.
These are certificate courses in business management, strategic management, marketing strategy and product management. Each program will be taught by IIMK teachers for a duration of six to eight months on online learning tools of Coursera.
With self-paced learning, candidates will get to attend live classes along with doubt-clearing sessions by IIMK teachers. Each programme includes real-world projects that can showcase skills acquired to employers or hiring managers.
“One of the special features of these programs will be the flexibility afforded to the participants by a judicious mix of synchronous and asynchronous content,” an official statement said.
The institute already runs several other short-term certificate courses on edu-tech platforms upGrad. IIMK certificate course in data science and in HR management and analytics is for a duration of five-months.
IIMK online certificate courses
The eight-month IIMK certificate course on business management is meant for business executives, leaders, and entrepreneurs. The course is open to anyone with a bachelor’s degree and preferably three years of work experience.
The strategic management certificate course is targeted towards working professionals seeking to learn “growth strategies, data-driven decision-making, and proven leadership tactics.” People with an undergraduate degree can apply for this course.
Focusing on how to use data mining, AI, and automation, the marketing strategy certificate course is designed for upskilling marketing professionals. This course will run for six months.
Open for all people from non-technical backgrounds, the product management certificate course is aimed to develop skills in business, user experience, technology, and emotional intelligence.
Others like IIM Calcutta, IIM Nagpur, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore offer similar short-term certificate courses as well.
