IIT Bombay launches India's first Entrepreneurship Olympiad for school students; register by August 25

The Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) of IIT Bombay has launched the International Entrepreneurship Olympiad (IEntO) 2026, India's first offline Entrepreneurship Olympiad for school students. The competition is open to students of Classes 6 to 12. Registration for this IEntO can be done until August 25, 2026.

According to E-Cell, IIT Bombay, the Olympiad aims to introduce school students to entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, creativity and business concepts through a structured national-level competition. Schools from across India can register online, and those enrolling a minimum of 40 students will serve as official IEntO examination centres.

E-Cell, IIT Bombay said, "IEntO is India's first offline entrepreneurship Olympiad, providing students with a unique opportunity to explore entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity, and leadership through an engaging national-level competition.”

The Olympiad seeks to encourage students to think beyond conventional classroom learning by exposing them to entrepreneurship and innovation at an early stage. Through the assessment, participants will also develop analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

IIT Bombay IEntO: Two-stage offline competition

The International Entrepreneurship Olympiad will be conducted in offline mode in two stages. Stage 1 is the school round and Stage 2 is the final round.

Students will first compete at their respective schools. Those who qualify will advance to the final round, where they will compete with top-performing students from schools across the country.

IIT Bombay IEntO: Benefits for schools, students

According to the press release, participating students will receive certificates from E-Cell, IIT Bombay, national-level rankings and recognition based on their performance. The Olympiad also offers cash prizes and rewards worth over Rs 10 lakh. Selected students will get an opportunity to visit IIT Bombay and attend the institute's annual E-Summit.

E-Cell, IIT Bombay said the Olympiad has been designed to help schools strengthen their innovation ecosystem while introducing students to entrepreneurship through a structured learning experience.

The press release said, "Unlike traditional Olympiads, IEntO focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation, business awareness, creativity, leadership and analytical thinking. The Olympiad encourages students to apply their knowledge to practical situations, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and understand how innovative ideas can solve real-world challenges."

Schools participating in the Olympiad will be able to identify students with entrepreneurial potential while providing them with an opportunity to compete at the national level.

IIT Bombay IEntO: Eligibility and registration

The Olympiad is open to schools across India with students studying in Classes 6 to 12. Each participating school must nominate a teacher coordinator to complete the registration process and coordinate the examination.

Schools interested in participating in the International Entrepreneurship Olympiad (IEntO) 2026 can register online through the official registration portal at ecell.in/iento/register by submitting the required details. After successful registration, E-Cell, IIT Bombay will share further instructions with the participating schools regarding the conduct of the Olympiad. The last date to register is August 25, 2026.
