‘Future that we inhabit will be built by you’: IIT Delhi awards degrees to 2,117 graduates

Download NowNEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi conducted 52nd convocation today, November 13 and a total of 2,117 students were awarded degrees and diplomas. Padamasree Warrior, IIT Delhi alumna and founder & CEO of Fable was the chief guest at the function.

Degrees were awarded to 288 PhD students, 843 undergraduate students, and 986 postgraduate students.
Addressing the students, the chief guest, Padamasree Warrior said, “The future that we will inhabit will be planned and built by YOU. As technologists graduating from one of top Institutions of Technology in the world, you must ask yourself – what will you build and how will you lead us into the future with the power of technology?”

She also talked about digital transformation, AI and data, sustainability and climate tech, cybersecurity, and cryptocurrency.
“With your IIT education, you are now ready to take on the world. I won’t sugarcoat this address and tell you that the path ahead will be easy. Success is never easy. It will often take a lifetime of hard work, personal sacrifices, and dealing with frustrations. Take this as fundae from one of your seniors… After years of coping with the brutal exams at IIT Delhi – the life ahead will be a piece of cake,” she added.
IIT Delhi Director, V Ramgopal Rao said, “I am sure that you would work for a better world where science and technology are used in socially responsible ways, and in harmony with the nature. We wish to see you become job providers and not remain as job seekers forever. Institute will always be your second home.”
