IIT Delhi launches certificate programme in generative AI with LLMs, NLP training

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi will begin the second batch of the Certificate Programme in Generative AI on August 30. The six-month executive learning course is being offered under the Continuing Education Programme (CEP). Interested and eligible applicants can submit their applications for the programme by July 30.

To be eligible for the certificate programme, applicants should hold a graduate or postgraduate degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematical disciplines. The course is designed for working professionals and aims to provide training in generative artificial intelligence, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and AI safety frameworks.

As per the institute, the programme includes 60 hours of live, online faculty-led sessions, along with tutorials and a 10-hour capstone project. Participants will also have the option to attend a one-day campus immersion at IIT Delhi.

The course will cover tools such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, spaCy and Hugging Face. Learners will engage with model architectures such as GPT, BERT and T5, as well as techniques like instruction tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, and reinforcement learning with human feedback.

IIT Delhi: Course fee and certification

According to the institute, the programme is meant for professionals in fields such as data science, software engineering, machine learning, digital product development, applied research and academia. The programme fee is Rs 1,79,000 plus taxes. Learners who complete the course will receive an e-certificate from IIT Delhi CEP.
