Download NowNEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has commenced the application process for admission into PhD programme in energy and sustainability at its new campus in Abu Dhabi. The course is set to start in January 2025.

The launch of the new programme comes just months after IIT Delhi started a number of new courses at the new campus –
MTech in energy transition and sustainability
and two
BTech programmes in computer science and engineering
and energy engineering – in January and September 2024, respectively.
IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi’s commitment to fostering advanced research and innovation in the field of energy and sustainability aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
IIT Delhi PhD: Programme highlights
The PhD programme in energy and sustainability will focus on addressing problems related to reaching NetZero targets. This includes research on renewable energy, sustainable process engineering, decarbonisation, process intensification, microgrids and power distribution in the evolving energy landscape, and also the use of AI and data science in order to aid energy transition.
This apart, students will engage in frontline topics for their doctoral dissertation, addressing global challenges related to technology and management of the energy transition and environmental sustainability, an official statement said.
IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi: Fee waiver
The application fee has been waived for the first cohort of applicants seeking admission for the January 2025 session. Full tuition waivers and monthly scholarships, both for UAE nationals and international students, are available for students who qualify in the selection process.

The last date for online application is December 31, 2024. Selected candidates will be expected to join by the last week of January 2025.
