IIT Delhi, NLU Delhi to collaborate on research on technology and law

Download NowNEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and National Law University (NLU) Delhi had a joint faculty workshop on Tuesday to explore research and academic partnerships in the field of technology and law, a statement from IIT Delhi said.

IIT Delhi will enter into a collaboration with NLU Delhi. Both the institutions are in the process of signing an agreement that will encompass interdisciplinary and collaborative teaching and research. Joint supervision of PhD projects, auditing of courses at both institutions by students, joint certificate programmes, and training courses for industry professionals or government bodies, were further emphasized by the participants in the workshop.
“This CoE [Centre of Excellence] has been established and is functional at IIT Delhi. IIT Delhi is also entering into a collaboration with the National Law University in Delhi,” said Ramgopal Rao, director, IIT Delhi in social media.
The workshop was designed as a platform for a meaningful exchange of ideas between faculty from both institutions. The purpose was also to discuss and work towards specific academic and research projects between IIT Delhi and NLU Delhi.
Ramgopal Rao and Srikrishna Deva Rao, Vice Chancellor, NLU Delhi addressed the faculty, highlighting the need for higher education to be more interdisciplinary, inter-professional and international.
