NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, has hosted the application form for a joint PhD programme on its official website. Interested candidates can apply for the PhD course at uqiitd.org.
The registration link for admission to the PhD programme will be available till March 18. The classes for the joint programme will commence from July 2025.
“With over 100 students currently enrolled, the programme offers a unique academic experience, including a higher fellowship amount compared to regular domestic programmes,” the institute said in a press release.
The IIT Delhi will also organise an information session for the candidates on February 25 and March 4. Applicants can register for the session through the official link at uqiitd.org/events/.
Both the educational institutions have also collaborated with the Weir Group to support the research in “slurry transportation through a new PhD project,” the institute added.

Candidates with science, technology, engineering, mathematics, humanities, and social sciences as subjects are eligible to apply for the PhD programme.
Scholarships will be offered to the PhD applicants for the duration of their candidature for up to a maximum of 4 years.
Notably, the PhD research scholars will get an opportunity to pursue one year at Australia’s UQ as part of the research exposure. They will be spending three years at IIT Delhi for completion of PhD programme.
