IIT Hyderabad launches four-week Applied AI certificate programme for working professionals

The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) has launched an applied AI certification programme for working professionals. The course is launched for working professionals seeking to move beyond using generative AI tools to building reliable AI applications.
The online applications are open and eligible candidates can apply for the four-week hybrid programme through the official website at iith.ac.in.
Under the programme, candidates will develop one production-style AI agent application, covering tools, RAG, memory, multi-agent systems, evaluation, observability and guardrails.
The course includes IIT Hyderabad faculty-led sessions, guided hands-on labs, project development and mentor support. Those who will complete the course, will receive an IIT Hyderabad professional certification.
IIT Hyderabad's hybrid applied AI certificate course
The Applied AI Professional Certification Program is a four-week learning programme focused on engineering AI agent systems, combining instructor-led sessions with hands-on labs, guided online learning, mentoring and continuous project development.
Candidates will be given an opportunity to build one connected AI application while learning tool use, retrieval, memory, orchestration, multi-agent systems, observability, evaluation, guardrails and deployment.
The programme will run from October 24 to November 14, 2026, in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend instructor-led sessions either on campus at IIT Hyderabad or online.
The curriculum covers tool use, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), memory, orchestration, multi-agent systems, observability, evaluation, guardrails and deployment.
The programme will be led by Praveen Tammana, Ashish Mishra, Anupam Sanghi and Abhijit Das, faculty members in the department of computer science and engineering at IIT Hyderabad, along with NVSS Koundinya, industry practitioner and AI Solution Architect.
