IIT JAM 2024 application deadline for admission extended to April 29
The JAM first admission list 2024 will be published on May 31. The joint MSc-PhD in Chemical and Molecular Biology offered by IIT Kharagpur has been withdrawn from JAM.
Candidates can download JAM previous year's papers to boost their exam preparation.

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has extended the last date to submit applications for admission through Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM 2024) to April 29. Candidates seeking admission into the masters and PhD programmes offered by IITs will have to submit the JAM admission application form 2024 through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS), jam.iitm.ac.in.

In a latest update, IIT Madras informed that the joint MSc-PhD in Chemical and Molecular Biology programme offered by IIT Kharagpur has been withdrawn from JAM 2024.
Through the IIT JAM exam 2024, around 3,000 seats in IITs will be filled for the academic year 2024-25. The institute announced that no additional evaluation process, such as a suitability test or interview will be conducted for offering admission.
JAM scores are used for admission to programmes such as MSc, MSc Tech, MS Research, MSc-MTech dual degree, joint MSc - PhD, MSc - PhD dual degree in the participating institutes. Besides IITs, over 2,000 seats in Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru (IISc) will also be filled.
The JAM first admission list 2024 will be published on May 31 and candidates will be allowed to make payment for booking seats by June 4. As per the schedule announced earlier, the second admission list will be issued on June 12.
JAM 2024 scores are likely to be used by various other institutes such as
- Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR),
- Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal),
- Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune (IISER Pune),
- Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE).
