IIT Kanpur B.Cyber Admission Test 2026: List of 120 shortlisted candidates out; assessment on July 5

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has released the list of shortlisted candidates who are qualified to sit for the Bachelor of Cybersecurity (B.Cyber.) admissions 2026 test. Applicants can check their application number on the official website of IIT Kanpur at iitk.ac.in.

As per the official notice, a total of 120 candidates have been shortlisted for this test. The institute will send an email with a confirmation form by June 29, 2026 (end of day). Those who are shortlisted and didn’t receive the mail can write to office_is@iitk.ac.in.

The application process for this course commenced on June 15, 2026, and concluded on June 25, 2026. The list of shortlisted candidates was released on June 29, 2026.

IIT B.Cyber. Admission 2026: Exam details

The admission test will be conducted at the IIT Kanpur campus on July 5, 2026. The results are scheduled to be announced on July 8, 2026 (Wednesday). Candidates selected for admission will have to report to IIT Kanpur on July 21, 2026 to complete the admission formalities.

Candidates are required to report to the examination centre by 9 am, while entry to the venue will close at 9:45 am, after which no candidate will be allowed to enter. Instructions and login procedures will be completed by 10 am, and the admission test will be conducted from 10 am to 4 pm.

IIT B.Cyber. Admission 2026: Guidelines

Candidates must report to the examination venue on time with a valid photo ID, sign the consent form before the assessment, and use only the system, login credentials, and approved tools assigned for the competition. They should remain at their designated workstation throughout the event, report any technical issues to the proctor immediately, and use only the official communication channels for queries.

Candidates are strictly prohibited from using unauthorised tools, devices, or external resources, including the internet, email, and messaging applications. They must not communicate with other participants, copy or share challenge content, tamper with the scoring system, or impersonate another candidate. Any violation of the guidelines will result in automatic disqualification from the admission assessment.

IIT B.Cyber. Admission 2026: Syllabus

The B.Cyber admission test/Hackathon will cover topics including cryptography, web security, API security, network security, reverse engineering, and open-source intelligence (OSINT). The assessment is designed to evaluate candidates' analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, curiosity, and aptitude for cybersecurity. It will be conducted on sanitized desktop systems under the supervision of IIT Kanpur experts throughout the examination.
