IIT Kanpur's Academics and Career Council hosts the NSRC to showcase cutting-edge ideas and research in academia and industry.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will organise the fifth edition of National Students’ Research Convention (NSRC) from March 3 to 5, 2023. The theme of the three-day annual event this year is ‘MedTech and Healthcare: The Welfare of Humanity’.
IIT Kanpur's Academics and Career Council hosts the NSRC to showcase cutting-edge ideas and research in academia and industry. The programme also provides students with opportunities to interact with industry leaders and faculty as well as gain insight into their fields of interest through presentations and talks.
Competitions and awards are necessary for NSRC to function. Students can participate by sending abstracts of their work for different themes at nsrc.anciitk.in till February 22, 2023. These themes include the following:

Talking about NSRC ’23, Professor Abhay Karandikar, Director IIT Kanpur, said: “The pandemic has emphasized not only the need to have a healthcare system in place but the important role that technology can play in making it more efficient. There are exciting innovations taking place in this field. This is the reason why medtech is the focus of NSRC ’23 this year. We hope that NSRC’23 will excite our young students.”

"One of the highlights of the convention also include workshops and this year’s convention is no different. ‘Design Thinking: An Agile Tool for Medical Device Prototyping’, organised by MedTech Laboratories of IIT Kanpur, will be a hands-on training on manufacturing engineering, medical devices manufacturing and rapid manufacturing," reads a statement in the official release.
