NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) will host Quantum Quest, a two-day event organized by the Mission Coordination Cell of the National Quantum Mission. The IIT Kanpur’s Quantum Quest is scheduled for March 22 and 23. The Quantum Quest will bring together students, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to discuss advancements in quantum technologies.
Quantum Quest aims to enhance awareness and encourage collaboration in quantum science and technology. The Quantum Quest event will cover key areas such as quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum sensing and metrology, and quantum materials and devices. The Quantum Quest event will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, skill development, and discussions on practical applications of quantum advancements.
The IIT Kanpur’s Quantum Quest event will feature addresses and invited talks by experts in quantum science. Students and researchers will have the opportunity to present their work through oral and poster presentations. As per IIT Kanpur, awards will be given for the best oral and poster presentations. Discussions will highlight the role of quantum technologies in national security, economic development, and scientific innovation.
Quantum Quest will include interactive sessions exploring the role of academia, industry, and government in driving quantum innovation. Participants will engage in discussions on real-world applications and potential collaborations in the field.

Registration for Quantum Quest is open to students, research scholars, and faculty members. The registration fee for IIT Kanpur’s Quantum Quest event is Rs100 for students and research scholars, while faculty and professionals will be required to pay 500. The register deadline for IIT Kanpur’s Quantum Quest event is March 12. The IIT Kanpur’s Quantum Quest registration form can be accessed at quantumquest.iitk.ac.in.
The National Quantum Mission (NQM), led by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), aims to position India as a leader in quantum research and application. It focuses on advancing quantum science to support economic growth, scientific discovery, and technological breakthroughs. The mission operates through four Thematic Hubs (T-Hubs) dedicated to quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum sensing & metrology, and quantum materials and devices.
IIT Kanpur has recently partnered with The Art of Living Foundation to launch a well-being programme for students. The initiative focuses on stress management, enhancing focus, and building emotional resilience. The IIT Kanpur's well-being programme includes meditation, breathing techniques, mindfulness practices, interactive workshops, and group activities.

The initial phase of the collaboration aims at bringing over 2,500 learners to enroll in the course on SWAYAM Plus. The platform will also target 10,000 students from various colleges to take SWAYAM Plus courses for credits.
