IIT Kanpur launches UpStart'23 to boost start-up ecosystem; registration open

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has launched UpStart'23 to bring together aspiring entrepreneurs, industry experts, investors, and mentors from the country to help boost the start-up ecosystem. The event is hosted by the student-led Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Kanpur. Interested participants can register themselves for the event till July 7, 2023, at ecelliitk.org/upstart

An official statement from IIT Kanpur read, “UpStart'23 will boost the startup landscape, creating an inclusive platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their talents, connect with industry leaders, and unlock boundless possibilities.”
The UpStart nationals will be held on July 16, 2023, in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. Participants will have the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of venture capitalists to expand their networks and gain valuable insights.

Participants in UpStart have to undergo a selection procedure that entails several rounds of detailed inspection. These rounds include brainstorming meetings held at several levels, along with one-on-one mentorship sessions. The focus is on the improvement of their concepts and realising their full potential.

The E-Cell of IIT Kanpur will conduct a grand finale of UpStart'23; UpStart Finale, during its flagship event E-Summit. UpStart Finale will provide a platform for startups to unlock their potential and ideas, the institute said. Top finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their innovative startup endeavours to a panel of venture capitalists.
