IIT Madras gets Rs 16.5 crore fund for anatomy lab at medical sciences department
IIT Madras students pursuing BS in Medical Sciences and Engineering will get practical learning experience in the new anatomy lab.

NEW DELHI : The Power Finance Corporation (PFC), a central Public Sector Undertaking, funded Rs 16.5 crore for the state-of-the-art anatomy laboratory at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) on August 19. The anatomy lab is established at the Department of Medical Sciences and Technology, IIT Madras.
The funding will eventually give a huge benefit to the department and also improve the quality of education for students who have enrolled in the Medical Sciences and Engineering BS Programme, according to the IIT Madras official statement.

Speaking on the occasion, the managing director of PFC Parminder Chopra said: “We are proud to have been associated with this transformative project at IIT Madras. Our commitment extends beyond infrastructure financing; as a responsible corporate entity, we believe in enriching lives through our CSR initiatives and contributing to building a better society.
He added, “This innovative first-of-its-kind anatomy lab can be used to develop powerful medical devices and explore new technologies for monitoring and treatment. By applying engineering principles to medical knowledge, such research has the potential to revolutionize the healthcare sector.”

The highlights of the PFC-supported anatomy laboratory are as follows.
