IIT Madras MBA admission 2026 for Indian nationals will be done based on CAT scores, while foreign nationals will be shortlisted through GMAT scores.
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has extended the application deadline for its two-year full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) to February 8. Admission to MBS programmes at IIT Madras will be based on CAT scores for Indian nationals and GMAT scores for foreign nationals.
The two-year MBA programme is offered by the Department of Management Studies (DoMS) for fresh graduated and experienced professionals. Earlier, the IIT Madras MBA application deadline was January 31.
As per the eligibility criteria, applicants should hold an undergraduate degree from a recognised institution in any discipline with 60% and above marks and 55% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Final year students will also be eligible to apply for admission provided they meet the degree requirements by September 30.
Indian nationals must have a valid score in Common Admission Test (CAT 2025) and foreign nationals must submit GMAT scores. Sponsored candidates with at least two years of work experience in the same organisation may apply for admissions.
The MBA curriculum is structured over seven quarters, with the initial phase focusing on conceptual foundations, followed by core courses in finance, marketing, operations, human resources and organisational behaviour among others. In the final phase, students will be allowed to specialise through electives across functional and domain-focused areas.
The programme also includes an 8-10 week summer internship after the fourth quarter and a capstone project in the final quarter aimed at strengthening industry exposure. The institute said the MBA programme has recorded 100% placements, with the highest salary package touching Rs 35.5 lakh per annum.
