IIT Mandi invites UP govt school students, teachers for PRAYAS 2.0

About 100 students will be selected to become a part of this camp and invited to a fully residential training programme at IIT Mandi.
NEW DELHI: The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at the Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Mandi, has invited Uttar Pradesh Government school students and teachers for its summer camp, PRAYAS 2.0, scheduled to be organised from June 5 to July 4, 2023. The students for the flagship programme will be selected on the basis of a qualifying test. The registration for the programme has already started and will be closed on March 10, 2023.
The institute will declare the result of shortlisted students on May 15. About 100 students will be selected to become a part of this camp and invited to a fully residential training programme at IIT Mandi. After the summer camp, students will have to develop a project based on the training and a competition will be organised to select the best projects developed by the students.
The Institute aims to inspire young students to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs to build skills, inspire innovation, and foster well-rounded life capabilities.

Through PRAYAS 2.0, students will get to learn about robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It will also help them to implement and relate it to the real world, and come up with new ideas that are capable of changing the world.
Sharing views on the importance of this summer camp for young students, Dr Tushar Jain, Head, Centre for Continuing Education, IIT Mandi, said: “Seeing the success of PRAYAS 1.0, this time we have extended this flagship program for the UP Government. A batch of 200 people including students and teachers will become a part of this event, which is fully residential and shall be trained in robotics, programming and computer, electronics and artificial intelligence."

"A competition will also be held at the end of the training to explore their innovation and ideas. The IIT Mandi customized robotics will be provided for the training and prototype development," he added.
“We sincerely thank the UPSDM for collaborating with us in imparting these skills to UP teachers and students. Through this camp, the students and teachers will also get exposure to IIT Mandi and shall be trained under the mentorship of faculty members and research scholars. We also have a centre of artificial intelligence and robotics where they will be trained with the help of state-of-the-art laboratory facilities. ” Jain further added.
