Download NowNEW DELHI : On the first day of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) placements for the 2024-25 session, students received job offers with salary packages in crores, as per various media reports. IITs in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kanpur, Roorkee, Kharagpur, Guwahati, and Banaras commenced 2024 placements on December 1 for the batch of 2025.

Trading firm Jane Street hired a computer science and engineering student from IIT Madras through a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO), according to an Economic Times report. The student, who previously interned at the organisation, reportedly secured a quantitative trader role of over Rs 4.3 crore.
Microsoft, Da Vinci, Qualcomm, Goldman Sachs, Bajaj Auto, Ola Electric, BlackRock, Glean, Databricks, Graviton, Quadeye, DE Shaw are among the recruiters which participated in the IIT placements 2024-2025 , as per ET. The companies hired engineering freshers for trading, developing, tech roles.

IIT Bombay placements
IIT Bombay saw 45 companies on the first day of placements this year with Da Vinci Derivatives announcing a Rs 2.2 crore package for various roles at its Amsterdam office, the Times of India reported.

Meanwhile, the institute denied the media reports on IIT Bombay placements. “IIT Bombay has not officially issued any statement to the Press so far regarding the ongoing Placement season. The reports being published are invalidated and hence IIT Bombay does not take any responsibility for the same. We are committed to providing diverse opportunities for students and we will issue an official statement, once we have authentic information to share. Further, we only disclose median salaries and not CTCs,” IITB told Careers360.
