Induction of First-Year Students
The new batch of PGDM 2020-22 is set to join the Institute on August 10, 2020, for the Foundation term. Before joining the institute, students must complete the registration which will happen through virtual meetings. To familiarise the student with the IMT Ghaziabad environment, it has scheduled Pre-Orientation webinars for the students. Pre-orientation classes were held from July 1- August 7 2020 on Lifesize platform & MS Team. Institute conducted many webinars inviting industry experts to prepare young minds for corporate professions ahead. The purpose of the Pre-Orientation program is to give the students the exposure of various aspects of the IMT Ghaziabad and also to welcome them to the IMT community.
IMT Plan for Academic Year 2020-21
Professor Mrinalini Shah, Chairperson PGDM, IMT Ghaziabad says, “The experience of teaching online by many of us helped us to quickly adjust to the idea of teaching for our full-time batch too, without losing time. The experienced faculty members supported young colleagues in learning tricks of online teaching & adopting new pedagogy faster. The readiness of our IT infrastructure including three software for conducting webinars & classes through our laptops could happen from April first week itself for our existing students. We have started our second-year classes from July 15 and all geared up to welcome our PGDM first year from August 10. The online mode of education does not compromise on rigor of business education and peer-to-peer learning, is my view. Though we all human wait for personal touch”
Methods for conducting class
Due to the current prevailing situation, IMT is geared up to conduct sessions online until it can have a physical presence of students on campus. Presently Institute is converting eight classrooms into studio mode for facilitating online teaching. In addition, ten modular/ mobile systems will be provided to faculty members who prefer to take class from their own offices. This will help institutes to follow social distancing with lesser students in class (as and when we will be allowed to host them at campus) and simultaneously stream the class online to few students wherever they are. Institute is using MS Team software for conducting classes.
