Independence Day 2023: This is how schools, colleges celebrated August 15th this year
Educational institutions including colleges and universities have celebrated the 77th Independence Day today.

EW DELHI: The nation is celebrating the 77th Independence Day this year. To celebrate Independence Day 2023, schools and colleges across the country hoisted the national flag and sang the national anthem.
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, hoisted the National Flag at Red Fort, Delhi, today and addressed the nation. The prime minister highlighted the developements made in the last year, raised important issues of the country including the Manipur violence, poverty alleviation and called for further developments in his Independence Day 2023 speech.

As many as 50 school teachers who have displayed “outstanding dedication and commitment” were invited to participate in the 77th Independence Day ceremony at the Red Fort.
Taking the oath for Nation first on the occasion of 77th Independence Day today, the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in a social media post said: “JNU is celebrating #77thindependanceday and recommitting ourselves to the Nation & our great civilizational values.”

The University of Lucknow also celebrated the 15th August 2023 this year by hoisting the national flag at its campus including at its hostel.

This year, the government has also launched "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign intended to honour the 'Motherland' and the brave souls who fought for India’s freedom. Students of KV School have organised several activities under the 'har ghar Tiranga' initiative.
