India Heatwave: Haryana revises schools timings for government, private schools

School Timing Change Notice 2022: School timing in Haryana will be from 7 am to 12 pm for Classes 1 to 12 from May 4, 2022.
NEW DELHI: The Haryana state directorate of school education has revised the school timing of government and private schools in the state due to the heatwave condition prevalent in the state. As per an order from the DSE, the class timings will be from 7 am to 12 pm for Classes 1 to 12. The order will be in effect from Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
"In view of the scorching heat, in view of the health of the children, the timings of all government and private schools from Classes 1 to 12 have been changed from 7 am to 12 noon," tweeted Kanwar Pal, minister of education, Haryana.

Heatwave in India is on the rise, and many states such as Odisha, Rajasthan, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh has revised school timings owing to the scorching heat. The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha has revised the Class 10 exam timetable for 2022 due to the heatwave condition. The board cancelled the afternoon shift of the exam.

As per media reports, many Rajasthan districts have also changed school timings due to the scorching heat in the state, with the temperature going up to 45 degrees celsius.
