India tops 19th international junior science olympiad; wins 6 gold medals

Indian team at international junior science olympiad 2022 became the only team to win six gold medals. Third consecutive year of all-gold win for India.
NEW DELHI: The Indian team won the top spot at the 19th international junior science olympiad (IJSO) 2022 held in Bogota, Colombia winning six gold medals. The event was held from December 2 to 12 , 2022.
There were a total of 203 students from 35 countries that participated in the IJSO this year. In the final medal tally, India was placed at the top winning the award for the best team as it was the only country to win six gold medals. Another team including members Arittra, Avaneesh and Rajdeep also got the Bronze medal jointly with another team in the Experimental competition.

2022 becomes the third consecutive year and fourth overall year that Indian won an all-gold performance at the IJSO and topped the medals tally. This team was accompanied by Ruia Jr College, professor, Chitra Joshi; SIES College of Science and Arts, Vishal Dev Ashok; UM-DAE CEBS, Subhojit Sen and scientific observer- Abasaheb Garware College, JP Gadre.
The international junior science olympiad consists of two theoretical exams- multiple choice questions and long questions and experimental examination. This year, of the 30 Indian students who participated in mathematics and scienceoOlympiads, 12 have won Gold, 13 Silver and five Bronze are invited to an informal interaction with IJSO students and mentors on December 14, 2022.
