Jamia Millia Islamia concludes inter-department sports, cultural, tech fest

JMI held the FET-Fest 2023 in three phases- sports, cultural and tech fest with events, workshops and competitions across genres for students.
NEW DELHI: The faculty at department of engineering and technology, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organised the inter-department FET-Fest 2023. The fest was conducted in three phases- sports, cultural, tech fest.
The first phase, sport fest was held from February 24 to 26, 2023 and was inaugurated with an opening ceremony. The chief guest, JMI, registrar, Nazim Husain Jafri addressed the audience and encouraged the participants to give their best performance in the events organised. The faulty-level winner of the JMI sports fest was the department of mechanical engineering.

The second phase, the cultural fest saw students participating and showcasing their talents in music, dance, sports and elocution. The two-day cultural fest on March 11 and 12 provided students with a platform to display their talents and engage with their peers from different departments. The combined winner of the faculty-level cultural trophy was department of applied science and humanities, department of environmental sciences and section of aeronautics.
The final phase of the fest was held from March 16 to 19, 2023. In this part of the fest, the technical societies IEEE, ACME, GDSE conducted events. IEEE technical fest, ENCOMIUM was on march 17, 2023 where competitions such as poster presentations for smart city challenge, research idea presentation, one minute video of latest technology, circuit debugging contest and tricky circuit design was organised.

The IEEE society also conducted a workshop on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Meanwhile the ACME society organised the THRIVE'23 on March 18, 2023 with events such as mock interviews, bridge design and poster making among others were held.
The department of computer engineering along with Google developer student clubs (GDSC) organized their technical fest on March 19 ,2023 in which 6 technical events were organized namely technical quiz, battle code, technical crossword, technical treasure hunt, machine learning model making and LAN gaming.
