Top colleges other than IIT to look for admission
Candidates are provided here a list of top colleges which offer admission on the basis of JEE Advanced score. Candidates must note that these institutes do not participate in JoSAA counselling. For admission, candidates have to fill the online application form of these institutes individually.
1) Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, Visakhapatnam
A newly formed institute dedicated for petroleum and energy studies, IIPE gained the status of Institute of National Importance in 2017. IIPE currently offers two programs, B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering and B.Tech in Chemical Engineering. The institute has collaborations with oil giants like HPCL, IOCL, ONGC, GAIL, OIL, OIDB, BPCL, Ministry of Industry and Commerce and an academic mentorship from IIT Kharagpur. To get admission, candidates have to fill the online application form of the institute and selection is based on the merit of JEE Advanced score.
2) Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER)
Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research are a group of 7 institutes located in Berhampur, Bhopal, Mohali, Pune, Kolkata, Tirupati and Thiruvananthapuram. IISER are institutes of national importance, dedicated to the study of natural science offering BS and BS-MS integrated programs among others. The institute offers admission through JEE Advanced for candidates having all India rank under 10,000 in the Common Rank List.
3) Indian Institute of Space Technology, Thiruvananthapuram
IIST is the government aided deemed university for the study of space science under the department of space, Govt of India . It is the first institute in Asia dedicated specifically for the study and research of outer space. IIST offers B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering and B.Tech in Electronics (Avionics). Admission in the institute is based on the IIST rank list of JEE Advanced score.
4) Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
IISc Bangalore is the number 2 institute of India based on NIRF ranking 2020 in overall category. The institute offers various 4 year BS programs in Biology, Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Science, Materials, Mathematics and Physics. Admission to the 4 year Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program is through JEE Advanced.
5) Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Amethi
RGIPT Amethi is the institute of national importance specifically for the study of petroleum studies. RGIPT is co-promoted as an energy domain specific institute by six leading Oil Public Sector Units ONGC, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, BPCL and HPCL in association with the Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB). RGIPT offers B.Tech courses in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics Engineering. RGIPT admits students on the basis of JEE Advanced score.
