JEE Advanced 2021: Check admission process for IISc, IISER, other institutes

NEW DELHI: The Indian Insitute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has concluded the JEE Advanced 2021 on October 3. Most of the students who qualify JEE Advanced exam opt for BTech in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). However, there are other options, too. Students who wish to change their path and study a different subject than engineering can apply for admission to other programmes at the other popular institutes such as the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs).

These institutes demand JEE Advanced scores for admission to the various courses offered by them. Check how to apply at these institutes here.

IISc

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore is one of the top institutes for studying Bachelor of Science (BS). The institute offers admission to the BS programme through JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY).

IISc will soon update the details of the admission to BS programme on its official website - iisc.ac.in.

Once the students apply for admission to the courses, IISc Bangalore will prepare a rank list of all the applicants and offer merit-wise admissions.

IISER

The IISERs offer admissions to students through three channels – JEE Advanced, State and Central Boards (SCB), and KVPY. For seeking admission through the SCB Channel, students need to appear for an entrance test – IISER Aptitude Test (IAT).

While applications for KVPY and SCB channels are closed, the institutes will open applications for the IIT-JEE channel after the declaration of JEE Advanced 2021 result.

IIST

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) Thiruvananthapuram admits students to three programmes on the basis of JEE Advanced result: four-year BTech in aerospace engineering, electronics and communication engineering (avionics), and five-year dual degree (BTech+ Master of Science or Master of Technology).

The institute will begin the registration process for admission to these programmes on October 8 on its official website - iist.ac.in.

IIPE

Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) is yet another institute that admits students through the JEE Advanced scores. Students who qualify JEE Advanced can apply for petroleum engineering and chemical engineering at the institute.

IIPE will release the 2021 admission notification soon. Interested candidates can check previous year’s admission process to get an idea.

RGIPT

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) has released the official notification for admissions to various BTech programmes through JEE Advanced for the academic year 2021-22. The application process began on October 4 and the last date to apply is October 26. The institute is conducting the admission process online.

The institute offers eight BTech programmes and two Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) programmes.
