JEE Advanced 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee conducted the IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 in two shifts today. As subject experts and students’ reactions JEE Advanced 2026 paper 1 was “moderate to difficult”. As per students, paper 2 was harder than paper 1 but the pattern was almost similar to paper 1. IIT Roorkee conducted the JEE Advanced 2026 exam in the first shift, from 9 am to noon, and the second shift was held from 2:30 to 5:30 pm.
According to subject experts, JEE Advanced 2026 paper 1 was “moderate to difficult.” The maths and chemistry sections were lengthy, and physics was comparatively easier.

Initially, the JEE Advanced morning shift paper was “moderate to easy,” and maths was rated “toughest.” While the questions from physics required deep conceptual clarity, the questions from chemistry were “tricky,” with lines visible from the NCERT in organic chemistry.

As per the JEE Advanced 2026 information brochure, candidates will have access to the response sheet on May 21, and the provisional answer key will be issued from May 25. IIT Roorkee will start accepting candidates on provisional answer keys through the candidate portal from May 25 to 26. JEE Advanced 2026 final answer key and results will be published on June 1 on the official website.
Candidates must note that qualifying in JEE Advanced 2026, filling in choices, or participating in the joint seat allocation process do not guarantee a candidate admission to IITs. Admission will solely depend on merit and the availability of seats during various rounds of seat allocation via the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
