NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 session 2 day-3 exam today, April 10. JEE Mains session 2 was conducted in two shifts. The first shift got over at 12 noon whereas the second shift commenced at 3 pm and ended at 6 pm. Candidates will be required to carry any one of the original and valid photo identification proof issued by the government -- PAN card, driving license, voter id, passport, aadhaar card with photograph), e-aadhaar, ration card, or identification affidavit along with JEE Mains hall ticket to the examination hall.
Candidates can carry a transparent ballpoint pen, personal hand sanitiser, transparent water bottle, sugar tablets or fruits inside the exam hall. There is no strict dress code to be followed for the JEE Main exam 2023. However, candidates should avoid wearing any piece of jewellery, watch, or any other gadgets and ornaments.

Candidates slated to appear in JEE mains 2023 exam for session 2 on April 11 will be required to enter application number and date of birth to download their hall ticket for the exam.
JEE Main 2023, the national level engineering entrance exam for admission to BE, BTech courses, consists of 90 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying 300 marks. The question paper has three sections - physics, chemistry and mathematics - with 30 questions each.
The NTA annually conducts the JEE mains exam every year for admission into National Institutes of technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other colleges. Admissions are offered in undergraduate engineering and architecture courses through the exam.
Students who took the JEE mains session 2 2023 exam scheduled on April 10 said that the Physics section was easy. They said that much weightage was given to topics such as kinematics, laws of motion, rotational motion, magnetism, SHM and waves, electrostatics, current electricity etc.
JEE mains 2023 exam for session 2 will be held in two shifts on April 11, 2023. The first paper will be conducted from 9 am until 12 pm, while paper 2 will take place from 3 pm until 6 pm.
Candidates appearing in the day 4 of JEE mains exam 2023 for session 2 must note that they will be required to carry a valid government issued photo ID proof at the exam centre, which includes Aadhar card, PAN card, voter ID, passport etc.

Candidates about to take the JEE mains session 2 exam on April 11, 2023 will be mandatorily required to carry the hard copy of their admit cards and a valid photo ID proof to the exam centre.
The NTA will observe the fourth day of JEE mains 2023 session 2 exam tomorrow on April 11, 2023. Candidates will be required to report to the exam centres by 7:30 am.
A total of 8.6 lakh candidates registered in JEE Main 2023 session 1 and the exam saw an all-time high attendance of 95.8 per cent in the January session.
As per Ramesh Batlish, FIITJEE Noida, "The reporting time for students was 2:20 pm however the exam started sharp at 3:00 pm. Students were not allowed to carry anything inside examination hall except a transparent ball point Pen, Admit Card & Aadhar Card. All guidelines as released by NTA earlier were followed for safety of the exam takers.
Every student was made to go through a sanitizing station where they had to sanitize themselves through a foot press lever. Personal masks were not allowed. Every student was given a fresh surgical mask at entry. Metal detectors were used at the entry gate and no bags or wrist watches were allowed inside. Students reported that entry started as soon as they were screened at the entry point. Time Clock on computer screen was provided inside the examination hall."
According to Ramesh Batlish, managing partner and head-FIITJEE Noida, the overall difficulty level of shift 2 was moderate.

NTA has developed an app called the National Test Abhyas to enable candidates to take JEE Main 2023 mock tests for free.
JEE Main 2023 exam paper 1 will be held for physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Each section will carry 100 marks and the exam will be of 300 marks in total.
JEE Main is conducted for admission to engineering, architecture, and planning programmes offered by NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs whereas JEE Advanced is conducted for admission to IITs.

The JEE Main 2023 exam timing is 9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm.

The overall difficulty of JEE Main April 10 shift 1 was easy to moderate. Mathematics was the most difficult subject to attempt out of all three subjects. The order of difficulty in different subjects- as assessed by experts is Mathematics > Chemistry > Physics.

The NTA said that if a candidate indulges in unfair means or cheating, they will be booked under the UNFAIR MEANS (UFM) case and may be debarred for three years in the future. The candidate “shall also be liable for criminal action and /or any other action as deemed fit.”
After April 10, NTA will conduct the JEE main session 2 exams 2023 on April 12, 2023.
To be eligible for JEE Main 2023 session 2, candidates must have secured a minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC or ST category) or be in the top 20 percentile in Class 12.

As per inputs by Saurabh Kumar, Chief Academics Officer (CAO), Vidyamandir Classes (VMC)-
Physics- The Physics section had questions from Mechanics, Electrostatics, Optics and Modern physics. There was one question from thermodynamics and waves.
Chemistry- In Chemistry one question was from chromatography. The questions from organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry dominated more than physical chemistry. There was also one question each of polymers and biomolecules and chemistry in everyday life.
Mathematics- In the Mathematics section, there was more domination of coordinate geometry and calculus. One question was from mathematical reasoning and statistics.

JEE Main 2023 session 2 first shift will begin from 9am and end at 12noon and second shift will start from 3pm and get over at 6pm.
JEE Main 2023 session 2 mathematics paper has 16 units, physics paper has 21, and chemistry has 28 units.
