NEW DELHI: The last day of the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) was conducted on Saturday, April 15. The JEE Main 2023 exam in the April session was held for Paper 1, or the BE and BTech papers, and Paper 2, or the BArch and BPlanning papers. The JEE Main 2023 April session exam question papers have been analysed as balanced in terms of coverage and most students taking the exams since April 6 said that the question papers were framed as per CBSE Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be releasing the provisional JEE Main answer keys for all the shifts of the exam and candidates will also be able to raise objections. After the release of answer key and candidates raising objections against the JEE Mains answer ley April session, NTA will be declaring the JEE Main 2023 results for BE, BTech and BArch and BPlanning papers.

The NTA has not yet announced the JEE Mains session 2 answer key release date yet. However, going by previous year trends, the JEE Main 2023 session 2 answer keys will be made available soon.
As per experts in the field, JEE Main April exam chemistry paper was the easiest section to attempt. While physics papers were moderately challenging, mathematics in all the shifts was the toughest section to attempt, the expert added.
The NTA will make the JEE Main 2023 answer key links for all the shifts of exams held between April 6 and 15 at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The JEE Main 2023 exam was held for 300 total marks. The students had to attempt 75 questions out of 90. Each question carried four marks. The correct answer will fetch four marks and marking wrong answers will result in the deduction of one mark. The 90 questions were divided into 3 sections -- physics, chemistry and mathematics. Each of these sections had sub sections (A and B). In section A all the questions were compulsory and in section B, students had to attempt any five questions out of 10.
Sharing the overall difficulty level and expected cut-off, Nitin Arora, Assistant Director Academics Engineering, Aakash BYJU'S said: “Chemistry was the easiest section to attempt.” While physics was moderately challenging, mathematics was the toughest section to attempt, the expert added.

This year, Nitin Arora, Assistant Director Academics Engineering, Aakash BYJU'S said, the expected JEE Main 2023 cut-off percentile will be higher as compared to last year.

The JEE Main result 2023 session 2 expected is before April end. As JEE Advanced 2023 exam date is June 4, the application for it will start after the JEE Main result is out.

The JEE Main passing marks 2023 for the general category student is expected to be around 90, for the EWS category is 78, the OBC-NCL category is 75, SC is 54, and ST is 44.

Students will be able to appear in the exam two times in a year. With today's exam, students will only be able to appear in next year's exam.
Candidates will be allowed one attempt per year. An aspirant can attempt the JEE Advanced exam twice in two consecutive years.
The mathematics paper was moderate and slightly time taking due to the lengthy calculations involved.
Overall, the questions from Organic, Physical and Inorganic Chemistry were evenly distributed in the paper.
According to a sizeable number of students, the Physics part was of easy level.

The JEE Main result 2023 session 2 expected date is April 24.

A category-based JEE Main rank list specifying the separate ranks for candidates belonging to reserved and unreserved categories respectively will be released.

As per Ramesh Batlish, Managing Partner and Centre Head-FIITJEE Noida, Mathematics had a total of 30 questions. Section 1 had 20 multiple-choice questions with single correct answers and Section 2 had 10 numerical-based questions out of which only 5 had to be attempted. The marking scheme for multiple choice questions was +4 for the correct response, -1 for the incorrect response, and 0 if not attempted. The marking scheme for numerical-based questions was +4 for the correct response, -1 for the incorrect response and 0 in all other cases. The total marks for this section were 100.
The physics section had a total of 30 questions. Sec 1 had 20 multiple-choice questions with single correct answers and Sec 2 had 10 numerical-based questions out of which only five had to be attempted. In terms of order of difficulty, Mathematics was moderate level while Physics was easy among the three subjects. Overall, this paper was of moderate level as per students.
NTA will release the JEE Main official answer key within a week after the conclusion of the exam.
The JEE Mains 13 April shift 2 answer key will be released once the exam concludes.
The JEE Main 2023 second shift timing is 3 pm to 6 pm.
