The JEE Main 2023 exam today is being held in two slots. While the first slot between 9 am and 12 noon was held for BTech and BE paper, the second slot is being conducted for BArch and BPlanning papers from 3 pm to 6 pm.

The NTA will deduct one mark from the total score of the candidate in JEE mains 2023 exam for incorrect responses.
The maximum marks to be awarded in JEE mains 2023 exam are 300.
Candidates who took the JEE mains 2023 day 5 exam held on April 12, 2023 found the mathematics paper from moderate to difficult.
The NTA will upload the answer key for JEE Main 2023 session 2 after the conclusion of the exams. As per trends, the JEE Mains answer key 2023 is expected to be out April 17 at the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The NTA will observe the final day of the JEE mains exam 2023 for session 2 on April 15, 2023.
Candidates about to take the JEE mains 2023 for April 15 exam will have to log on to jeemain.nta.nic.in to download hall ticket. They will be required to enter their application number and date of birth to access the hall ticket.
The JEE mains 2023 exam for session 2 will take place in two shifts on April 13 too. Paper 1 will be held from 9 am until 12 pm, while paper 2 will be conducted from 3 pm until 6 pm.
The candidates about to take the JEE 2023 session 2 exam scheduled for April 13 must note that they will be required to produce a valid government-issued photo ID proof at the exam centre, which includes Aadhar card, PAN card, Voter ID, passport etc.
Mathematics
JEE Main 2023 reporting time is 8:30 am in the morning shift and 2:30 pm for the second shift.
"Since session 1 of JEE (Main) - 2023 Paper-2A (BArch) or Paper-2B (BPlanning) will be conducted in multi-shifts, NTA scores will be calculated corresponding to the raw (actual) marks obtained by a candidate. The calculated NTA scores for all the shifts will be declared on the NTA websites. This will comprise the NTA scores for each of the three parts (Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing Test or Planning Based Test) and the total in Paper 2A (B. Arch) or Paper 2B (B. Planning) of Session 1 of JEE (Main) 2023," said NTA in information bulletin.
JEE Main 2023 shift 2 has ended at 6:30pm for candidates who appeared for both 2A for BArch, and 2B for BPlanning papers.

JEE Main 2023 April 12 shift 2 has ended for those candidates who are giving either paper 2A for BArch or paper 2B for BPlanning.

As per Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash BYJU’S, NTA has increased the difficulty level for April 12(Shift 1) as compared to other sessions of JEE Main Exam (Phase 2), it was a paper of moderate level. Physics was the easiest of the lot whereas Mathematics because of lengthy calculations and tricky questions was considered to be moderate to difficult by many students.

In terms of order of difficulty – Mathematics was moderately tough while Physics was easy among the three subjects. Overall, this paper was of moderate level as per students.
Rhe Mathematics had a total of 30 questions. Section 1 had 20 multiple-choice questions with single correct answers and Section 2 had 10 Numerical based questions out of which only 5 had to be attempted. The marking scheme for multiple choice questions was +4 for the correct response, -1 for an incorrect response, and 0 if not attempted. The marking scheme for numerical-based questions was +4 for the correct response, -1 for the incorrect response and 0 in all other cases. The total marks for this section were 100.
As per Ramesh Batlish, Managing Partner and Head-FIITJEE Noida Centres, the Chemistry paper had a total of 30 questions. Section 1 had 20 multiple-choice questions with single correct answers and Section 2 had 10 Numerical based questions out of which only 5 had to be attempted. As per the NTA, a total of 8.6 lakh students applied for the JEE Main January session 2023 exam, out of which, 8.22 lakh candidates appeared for it.

In terms of order of difficulty of the JEE Main 2023 April 10 Shift-1, mathematics was easy to moderate while physics and chemistry were easy among the three subjects. Overall, the paper was easy level as per students.

JEE Main 2023 session April 11 shift 2 will begin from 3 PM and get over at 6 PM.
The overall difficulty level of JEE Main paper 2 exam today, as per students associated with FIITJEE, was moderate. In terms of order of Difficulty – Mathematics was Moderate Level while Physics was Easy amongst the three subjects, Ramesh Batlish Head, FIITJEE Noida said.
Chemistry – Easy to Moderate Level.
Inorganic Chemistry was given more weightage compared to Physical & Organic Chemistry. Numerical Based questions were mostly from Physical Chemistry – Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Mole Concept, Ionic Equilibrium, Solid state.
Questions also asked from Environmental Chemistry, p & d block, Phenols, Chemical Bonding, Coordination Compounds.
Some mixed concept questions were asked in Organic Chemistry from Amines, Aldehydes & Ketones, Biomolecules, Polymers.
Physics – Easy level.
Questions asked from Kinematics, Heat & Thermodynamics(3 to 4 questions), Kinetic Theory of Gases, Gravitation, Rotational Motion, EM Waves, Electrostatics, Magnetism, AC Circuits, Current Electricity, Modern Physics & Ray Optics.
Numerical based questions were easy.
Overall, this section was balanced as per students.
As per FIITJEE expert, mathematics paper was of moderate level. Questions were asked from all chapters with emphasis on Chapters of Algebra & Calculus. Questions were asked from Vectors & 3 D Geometry (4 to 5 questions), Binomial Theorem, Progressions, Matrices, Mathematical Reasoning, Statistics, Permutation & Combination & Probability, Straight Lines & Circle , Parabola, Definite Integrals had 3 questions, Area, Differential Equations(2 questions). Numerical Section had lengthy calculations. Mixed concept questions were asked in Conic Sections. Few questions were reported as Tricky.
