NEW DELHI: The Bombay High Court will be hearing the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2023) 75% criterion on April 6, 2023, the child rights activist Anubha Srivastava Sahai said.

The bench of acting Chief Justice SV Gangapurwala and Justice Sandeep V Marne who heard the plea for JEE Main 2023 postponement said that the counsel for petitioner sought time to file rejoinder and argue. “It will be relevant at the time of admission to the course after June 2023” and will be heard on a later date.

As per the latest update, Anubha Sahai in a tweet informed that the Bombay High Court will be hearing the matter on April 6. She has been actively voicing her support for students who aspire to appear in the national-level entrance exams, including National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2023).

The NTA had last year announced to withdraw 75% criterion as an one-time measure due to the academic loss caused by COVID-19 pandemic. On January 11, the NTA relaxed eligibility criteria and said that the students who have scored 75% marks or are in the top 20 percentile in Class 12 of any education board will be eligible to seek admission at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs).

Such students will also be able to appear for JEE Advanced 2023. On the other hand, Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates will require 65% marks, as per the JEE Main eligibility criteria.

After numerous requests on social media for postponement, change in far-off exam centers allotted by the NTA, she said that the need of the hour is a proper planning of academic sessions from KG to postgraduate (PG). The child rights activist also criticized the government for “experimenting with board exam students”.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be closing the JEE Mains 2023 session 2 registration on March 12. The JEE session 2 exam dates are April 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12.
