NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency is expected to announce the JEE Mains 2023 exam date soon. Along with the official notification, the NTA is also expected to announce the JEE Mains 2023 eligibility criteria on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main eligibility criteria 2023 includes the basic parameters that a candidate should satisfy to be eligible for the exam. The authorities will release the eligibility criteria of JEE Main 2023 along with the official brochure at jeemain.nta.nic.in 2023.

JEE Mains 2023: Eligibility Criteria

The candidates appearing in the JEE Mains 2023 exam must read the eligibility criteria carefully to avoid unexpected issues during examination procedure.

  • Age limit- There is no age limit for appearing in the JEE Mains 2023.

  • Qualifying Examination- Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations from the recognised board.

  • Year of Passing - Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or appearing in 2023 will only be eligible for JEE Main 2023.

  • Qualifying Subjects- The candidates should have qualified in 5 subjects:

    • Language

    • Mathematics

    • Physics

    • Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject

    • Any other subject

  • Admission Criteria for IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs- For B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Plan admissions in IIITs, NITs and CFITs, candidates must have scored minimum 75% marks (65% for SC/ST category candidates) or should fall under the top 20 percentile of their respective boards and for B.Arch admission in institutes other than IIITs, NITs and CFITs, candidates must have scored 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 or equivalent

The JEE Main 2023 registration date is also expected to be announced soon. The JEE Main 2023 comprises two papers. JEE Main Paper 1 will be conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programs BE or BTech at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating state governments. JEE Main paper 2 will be conducted for admission to B.Arch/B.Plan courses. JEE Main 2023 exam also acts as an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admission to IITs.
