: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2023 twice. The national-level engineering entrance examination, JEE Main 2023, will be held in two phases - mid-January and April, according to the Times of India report. The application form and exam details will be available soon on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, along with the JEE Main 2023 exam dates.

Although the JEE Main 2023 dates are yet to be announced by the NTA, here are some important details on the upcoming engineering entrance exam that we know.
Students have been demanding clarification on “how many attempts will JEE Mains 2023 have” on social media platforms. Aspirants must note that the NTA has not yet released any notification regarding the JEE Main 2023 or the number of attempts. However, based on reports, the NTA JEE Main 2023 exam will be held twice. Moreover, the first attempt of JEE Main 2023 exam will be conducted in January, while the second attempt in April.
Earlier, a senior official at the education ministry told The Times of India that the JEE Main 2023 will be conducted as per pre-pandemic calendar that is January and April.

In the year 2021, the NTA decided to conduct the JEE Main exam four times and notified that decision to increase the number of attempts was taken due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation that impacted the education sector largely. Later, in 2022, the NTA again reduced the JEE Main number of attempts to 2, however, due to the pandemic, the exams were held in June and July, instead of January and April.
The JEE Main exam is conducted every year as a gateway to get admission into BTech/BE courses offered by National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute Of Information Technology (IIITs) and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).
