NEW DELHI : After computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering remains the top choice of BTech aspirants. The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) will admit students to their undergraduate engineering programmes through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the first session of JEE Mains 2025 from January 22 to 31.

The highest JEE Main cut-off at which an NIT closed admission to the BTech ECE programme last year was 3546 at NIT Tiruchirappalli for the candidates outside Tamil Nadu. The ECE branch has been highly competitive in the last three years with high closing ranks despite an increase in number of applications.
JEE Main 2025: BTech ECE cut-offs for previous years
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will conduct the counselling process for BTech admissions at NITs . Last year, the authority held only five rounds of JEE Main counselling instead of the usual six. Last three years’ JEE Main closing ranks for gender-neutral open category seats in BTech ECE programmes offered at NITs are as follows:
