The NTA has stated that registration for JEE Main 2025 will commence "in due course of time." Additionally, it announced the removal of optional questions from section B, which were initially introduced as a temporary measure during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The NTA recently announced significant changes to the JEE Main 2025 exam pattern, reverting to the pre-pandemic format. The key change is the removal of optional questions from Section B of each subject, a decision made following the declaration of the end of COVID-19 as a public health emergency in May last year.
During the pandemic, the optional questions were introduced as a temporary measure to address the unique challenges faced by students, such as difficulties in accessing education and unequal learning environments. At the time, candidates were allowed to attempt any 5 out of 10 questions in Section B, giving them flexibility during a period of widespread disruption.
JEE Main registration link 2025 will be activated in November, as per previous years’ trends. The detailed information on JEE Main 2025 registration will be made available in the JEE Main information bulletin.
Last year, JEE Main exam was conducted in two sessions – session 1 in January and session 2 in April. The duration of the entrance exam was three hours for paper 1 and paper 2 and 3 hours 30 minutes for paper 2A and 2B both. The test was conducted in two shifts – shift 1 from 9 am to 12 noon and shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm.
